ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The Lindenwood women's soccer team (3-4-2) celebrated Senior Day with a 1-0 win over Murray State (1-6-2) at Hunter Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Lions matched their season-high with nine shots on goal in the contest.
Lindenwood turned five shots on target and earned five corner kicks in the first half, but were unable to find the back of the net as the match entered halftime tied at 0-0.
The Lions remained aggressive out of the break, with their offensive pressure paying off in the 63rd minute, as
Lizzie Conner played the ball short on a corner kick to
Anna Johnson, who lofted a cross into the box that found the head of her younger sister,
Peyton Johnson, who rose above the Racers defense to redirect the ball into the back of the net for the go ahead goal.
Murray State was unable to find an equalizer through the remaining 27 minutes as
Caroline Ritter turned in her third clean sheet of the season, making a pair of saves.

- Kaylee Conoyer posted career high in shots (6) and shots on goal (4), which both led Lindenwood in the contest.
- The Lions' 16 total shots were their most in a match since recording 21 against Bellarmine in the season opener.
- Johnson's goal was Lindenwood's first on home turf since Mackenzie Compton scored against Bellarmine on August 13th.
