The Lindenwood men's golf team began the year shooting 917 as a team across three rounds at Colbert Hills CC in Manhattan, Kan., which was good for a 13
th place finish.
OVERVIEW
To begin its season, Lindenwood carded a team score of 301. That effort was led by
Owen Shy who fired a two-under 70 across the opening 18. He finished with five total birdies, including four on the back nine to get to that score.
Santiago Juesas Benet recorded a 73 and had three birdies on the final nine holes.
Francisco Gavilan Fernandez and
Isaac Kelley came in with a 79, followed by
Ian Hollander with an 84.
The Lions followed it up with a 304 in round two as Juesas fired a 73 once again with the help of five birdies. Hollander also shot a 73 and had a team-high six birdies during the round. Gavilan registered a 75, followed by Shy with an 83 and Kelley with an 85. Following 36 holes, the Lions sat in 10
th place.
The Black and Gold concluded the tournament with a 312, with Shy shooting an even-par 72. Gavilan closed out his tournament with a 74, followed by Hollander's 82, while Juesas and Kelley each registered 84.
