The Lindenwood Women's Rugby team opens its 2026 fall schedule tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. with a home matchup against Southern Nazarene. In their first season as official members of the National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) last season, the Lions finished the regular season with a 7-1 conference record and earned the No. 2 seed in the NIRA playoffs. Lindenwood defeated Army, 29-22, in the semifinal round in St. Charles to advance to the NIRA Divisional Championship match where the Lions came up just short falling to Harvard by a score of 22-19 on the road.

Despite the loss, Lindenwood returns 22 players from last season and welcomes in 14 freshmen and one transfer to their 2026-27 roster. With a mix of returning experience and new talent, the Lions are poised to make another deep postseason run in their second season as members of the NIRA.

Lions Storylines

• Lindenwood is 3-0 all-time against SNU, averaging 66.3 points per game in the three previous meetings against the Crimson Storm. 
• The Lions return three All-NIRA players from a season ago in Khalea Pahulu, Jasmine Fehoko, and He'Lena Dou'Ble. Fehoko was tabbed as a All-NIRA Second Teamer, while Pahulu and Dou'Ble were named to the Honorable Mention team. 

 
About Southern Nazarene

• In the Fall of 2025, Southern Nazarene went 10-1 with their only loss coming against Life University by a score of 83-0. 
• The Crimson Storm defeated Northern Iowa in the National Collegiate Rugby Championship match on December 6, 2025 by a final score of 82-21 in Houston, Texas. 

 
Next Up
Lindenwood will hit the road next weekend for a neutral site matchup against Queens in their first NIRA matchup of the 2026 season. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 PM CT in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
