Dana Morgan is in his third season at Lindenwood during the 2018-19 men’s basketball season.
In 2016-17, Morgan helped the Lions win 21 games, a program record for wins during its NCAA history. The Lions had two all-conference players and one MIAA all-defensive performer during the year. He helped Lindenwood rank 33rd in NCAA Division II in scoring defense, allowing less than 70 points a game.
Morgan came to Lindenwood from Illinois-Springfield, where he was an assistant coach for two seasons. The Prairie Stars won 11 games overall and advanced to the GLVC Tournament in each of his two years at the school.
Prior to Illinois-Springfield, he was an assistant for two seasons at Rend Lake Junior College. He helped the program got 50-14 in that span. In 2013, he helped coach the Warriors to the Division II NJCAA National Championship. At Rend Lake, Morgan was primarily responsible for the development of guards, while also assisting the head coach in the day-to-day operations of the program.
Morgan has also been the assistant director of the Southwestern Illinois Jets Basketball Club since 2008, and has experience in developing relationships with college coaches to help gain exposure for his players. He also touts high school coaching experience with stops at the Riverview Gardens School and East St. Louis Districts.
