Mandy Lau

Mandy Lau just finished her first season as a swimming assistant coach for Lindenwood. She previously served as the head coach at Lindenwood University-Belleville (NAIA) and Maryville University (NCAA D2).

Lau started the swimming and diving program at Lindenwood University-Belleville in 2014-15 and both teams had immediate success in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). In the program’s second season, 25 athletes qualified for the national championships. The men’s team finished third overall, while the women’s team finished ninth that year. During that season, Lau coached the NAIA national champion in the 200yd backstroke.

In the team’s third season, Lau coached numerous top-5 finishes in both the men’s and women’s sprint and distance freestyle events at the national championships. All 17 athletes qualified for championship heats resulting in the men finishing in fifth, the women in ninth overall.

Lau led the Lynx men’s team to two, back-to-back Mid-South Conference Championships and the team was recognized in both seasons for Mid-South Conference Freshman and Athlete of the Year on the men’s side. The Lady Lynx team finished in third both seasons. Both teams earned multiple All-Conference honors.

During her time at Lindenwood Belleville, Lau coached the combined teams toward 12 All-Americans, 30 honorable mention All-Americans. In addition, 28 swimmers earned all-conference honors.

Lau also started the women’s swimming program at Maryville University for the 2012-13 season.

From 2009-2012, Lau was the head coach at Francis Howell High School’s men’s and women’s teams. She coached four Missouri State Champions while at Francis Howell.

While attending Lindenwood, Lau earned honorable mention All-American honors in 800 free relay, 500 freestyle, 400IM, and 200 butterfly. She was a three-time national qualifier in these events, and held the school record at the time for the 800 free relay. She was a two-time team captain, and received the 2008 Champion of Character Award.
