Jordan Mellott enters his third season as associate head coach in 2025-26.
Under Mellott in 2024-25, Lindenwood posted the third-best win improvement in all of Division I, finishing the year with a record of 23-11, including a 16-4 mark inside conference play. Both of those marks for regular season and conference wins are the most in Lindenwood’s NCAA Era. After the regular season the Lions went on to earn the programs first postseason berth at the Division I level, making it all the way to the Super 16 of the WNIT. Ellie Brueggemann and Brooke Coffey earned All-Conference honors during the year.
Mellott guided the Lions to a 7-21 record in 2023-24. Lindenwood found itself in many close games, dropping eight contests by seven points or less. The black and gold led the OVC in turnover margin at +3.68. Ellie Brueggemann had an outstanding freshman campaign, averaging 13.8 points per game, which led to second team and all newcomer selections. Makayla Wallace set a new single season program record for steals with 72. She averaged 2.6 steals per game last season, tied for tops in the conference. It also ranked 24th nationally.
Mellott arrives at Lindenwood after spending the last three seasons at Drury University, where the Panthers accumulated an 87-9 overall record. He was named the NCAA-II Assistant Coach of the Year by the WBCA following the 2021-22 campaign that saw the Panthers go 32-5, 17-3 in the GLVC, and win the team's sixth-straight conference championship.
Before his time in Springfield, Mo., Mellott spent two years as an assistant coach at Adams State. He began his career in coaching at the high school level with stops at Har-Ber high school in Springdale, Ark. and Leavenworth high school in Leavenworth, Kan. As the head coach at Leavenworth, he led the team to a 64-11 record in three seasons, including a state title in 2015.
Mellott graduated from Benedictine (Kan.) College in 2012 with a degree in Elementary Education and Special Education, and he earned a Master’s degree in Education, School & Counseling Psychology with an Emphasis in Positive Coaching from the University of Missouri in 2017.
