Greg Henson is in his second season as an assistant coach for the Lindenwood women’s soccer program. He is also the head coach for the women’s soccer program at Lutheran High School.
In 2011, Henson was named the AAA Conference Coach of the Year after he led Lutheran to its most successful season over the last six years. The 2011 Class 1 District Finalists earned more single season victories and more AAA conference victories than any team over the last six years. The 2011 team also won the Consolation Championship in the Riverview Gardens Invitational and took third place in the Lutheran High School Invitational. Under his guidance, five players earned All-Conference awards in 2011.
Prior to his arrival at Lutheran, Henson was the head men’s soccer coach at St. Louis Community College - Forest Park during the 2009 and 2010 seasons. He was named the 2010 Coach of the Year in the MCCAC and led his team to their first conference championship since 1996. The 2010 season was also the first winning season the Highlanders have enjoyed in over a decade. Under his guidance, seven players received All-Conference honors, and five players received All-Region XVI accolades.
In addition to his responsibilities at Lutheran and Lindenwood, Henson is also the assistant coach with the St. Louis Lions of the PDL-USL and staff coach for the Missouri ODP program. Henson currently holds his USSF National “B" License, NSCAA Level 1 Goalkeeping badge, and is pursuing a master’s degree in sports management from Lindenwood.
During his playing career, Henson was a three-time first-team All-Conference selection in the SLIAC for Webster and Fontbonne Universities. He graduated from Francis Howell North High School in St. Charles where he lettered in soccer and was an All-Conference selection.
