Derrick Weller is in his third season on the Lindenwood coaching staff in 2018-19.
In his first season, Weller helped Lindenwood finish third in the MIAA regular season and tournament. The Lions won two MIAA individual championships, and they advanced one wrestler to the NCAA Division II National Championships.
Prior to joining the coaching staff, Weller was a four-year letterwinner at Lindenwood from 2011-2015. He qualified for two NCAA Division II National Championships, and earned All-American honors both times with an eighth-place finish in 2014 and a fifth-place showing in 2015. During Lindenwood's transition to the NCAA level, Weller won an individual national title at the NWCA Championships.
Weller is originally from Kansas City, Kan. He placed at three Kansas State Championships.
Weller graduated from Lindenwood in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in fire and paramedic science.
