The No. 12 Lindenwood men's basketball team dominated the paint and had its best defensive effort of the
Brad Soderberg era in a 74-65 win over Missouri Baptist.
The Lions held the Spartans to just 37.9 percent shooting for the game. Lindenwood also outrebounded Missouri Baptist by a 45-22 margin and had a 46-20 advantage in points in the paint.
Lindenwood never trailed in the game after scoring the first seven points. Missouri Baptist did tie the contest at 13 but
Richard Rose quickly answered with a three-pointer and Lindenwood never trailed again. Over the final seven minutes o f the first-half, the Lions outscored the Spartans 11-4 and led 33-25 at the break.
In the second-half, the closest Missouri Baptist would come would be five at 61-56 with 5:15 remaining. Lindenwood scored on its next five possessions after that to clinch its third home victory of the season.
Toriano Adams led Lindenwood with a double-double of 22 points and 14 rebounds.
Joey Parker added 15 points and had team-highs with five assists and two steals. Rose continued his season long streak of scoring in double figures with 11, and
Shane Williams had eight points and eight rebounds.
Alfred Nelson had a team-high two blocks to go along with six points and six boards.
Lindenwood is off until Thanksgiving weekend when it participates in the Columbia Tournament.
