Swimming and Diving Compete Against Strong Competition

The Lindenwood Lion men's and women's swimming and diving team competed against numerous NCAA Division I teams on Saturday afternoon. The men finished second out of eight schools and the women placed fourth out of nine.

Leading the way for the men was Javier Hernandez who finished in first place in the 100 and 200 yard butterfly and the 400 yard IM.Teammate Ubaldo Zavaleta finished three spots behind Hernandez in the 400 yard IM. Sophomore Carlos Tejero finished first in the 100 yard backstroke. The Lions' 400 yard freestyle, 200 yard butterfly and 200 yard Medley teams finished on top of the podium in their respective races.

The Lady Lions 400 yard freestyle relay team finished right behind the University of Evansville. Jessica Reinitz placed fifth in the 100 yard butterfly and Lauren Thrasher finished in the top 10 in the 200 yard backstroke. Lindenwood's 200 yard medley relay finished in second and the 200 yard freestyle relay place third.

Next up for the swimming and diving teams is a meet against St. Louis University on December 4.
