Lindenwood cross country sweep the HAAC Championships for the second straight season on Saturday, winning both men's and women's titles and earning the conference's automatic berth to the NAIA National Championships.
The Lady Lions swept both the team and individual titles as
Francine Nzilampa won the race for the second straight season. She finished in a time of 18:40, nearly 1:50 faster than the runner-up finisher.
Yasmina Elkasmi ran a 21:01 and finished fifth and
Annabelle Delarue finished in 21:13 and came in seventh. All three of those runners earned all-conference.
Lindenwood's women finished with a total of 38 points, four better than runner-up Benedictine. Also finishing in the top 15 were
Tanyaradzwa Chibanda (22:08),
Rachel Hemphill (22:10), and
Jan Bennett (22:12).
On the men's side, Lindenwood had 42 points, finishing 41 better than the runner-up school. Four of the ten all-conference runners were Lions, led by Mustapha Habbani who was the runner-up with a time of 27:50.
Samson Kibet was third with the same time,
Brian Soule finished ninth with a mark of 28:48, and
Will Everett came in tenth with a time of 29:10.
The NAIA National Championships will take place in Vancouver, Wash. on Nov. 21.
