The Lady Lions played their best defensive game of the year on Saturday night at the Tabor Classic against the hosts, Tabor. Lindenwood held the Lady Jays to only 18 percent shooting and a season-low 28 points. The Lady Lions would leave the Tabor Classic with a 1-1 record after winning, 49-28.
Lindenwood set the tone in the first half, only allowing the Lady Jays 12 points. The Lady Lions would take a 23-12 lead into the locker room.
The second half was much of the same as the Lady Lions dominated the defensive end. On the night Lindenwood compiled 19 steals and forced the Lady Jays to turn the ball over 26 times.
Leading the way for the Lady Lions was Christina Edwards who poured in her career high in points with 17 and added 14 rebounds to record her second straight double-double. Sade Adams chipped in with 13 points and six steals while Cassie Williams netted only three points but grabbed 10 rebounds.
With the win the Lady Lions improved their record to 3-8 and will get back to their HAAC portion of the schedule against Missouri Valley on January 7th in Marshall, Mo.
