Defense the Story of the Night in Lady Lions Win

It was a dominating performance by the Lindenwood Lady Lions basketball team on Thursday night as they beat Culver-Stockton, 86-56.

After Culver hit an opening three pointer it was all Lady Lions from then on. Lindenwood went on a 15-2 run to take control of the game. The game would go to the half with Lindenwood on top 30-18, which was the largest lead the Lady Lions have held at the break.

The second stanza was much of the same as Lindenwood would dominate from the opening whistle. Lindenwood would outscore Culver 46-31 in the half.

Leading the way for Lindenwood was Gina Ferrer who led all scorers with 20 points. The senior from Texas connected on 5-of-12 shots from behind the arc. Kelly Albers scored 15 points and added nine rebounds and Christina Edwards pitched in with 13 points.

Lindenwood would shoot 41 percent from the field in the game and 34 percent from behind the arc. But the story of the night was the Lindenwood defense who held Culver-Stockton to 27 percent shooting and forced 24 turnovers.
