The Lindenwood Lady Lions soccer team won its second conference game of the year Saturday afternoon after beating visiting Avila 4-1.
It was a quick start for Avila as they took an early 1-0 lead after Katie Donnely scored just two minutes into the game. Late in the second half the Lady Lions were able to tie the score when Paige Hickey scored her third goal of the season. The game would stay tied heading into the half.
The second half was a half that was dominated by the Lady Lions. Bailey Cody got the scoring going breaking the tie in the 46th minute. Cody would strike again scoring her second goal of the game after a perfect pass from Lindsay Shea to give the Lady Lions a 3-1. Again Cody would be in the middle of a goal as she set up Kendal Kravec for the Lady Lions fourth goal of the game.
In the second half the Lady Lions outshot the Eagles 10-3 and outscored the visitors 3-0. Whitney Calvin started in the nets for the Lady Lions and gave up just one goal while making two saves.
With the win the Lady Lions improve their record to 4-4-1 and its conference mark to 2-0-1.
