Bellarmine jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead and never looked back Sunday afternoon, defeating Lindenwood 6-1 in field hockey at Harlen C. Hunter Stadium.
The visiting Knights added three more goals in the second half to take a commanding 6-0 lead. The Lady Lions' only goal came late in the game when Maria Schafer lofted a shot over the Bellarmine goalie for her first tally of the season.
Julianne Sutton took the loss in goal, allowing all six scores and posting five saves.
Bellarmine outshot the Lady Lions 19-10, and held a 11-8 advantage in penalty corners.
Lindenwood falls to 5-7 on the season and returns to action next Saturday against Trine on the road.
