Lady Lions Snap Conference Losing Skid With a Win Over Central Methodist

The Lindenwood women's soccer team snapped a four-game conference losing streak on Wednesday night after a 1-0 win over the Central Methodist Eagles on the road in Fayette, Mo.

For the first 45 minutes neither team could break through and the game would go into the break 0-0. The final half started just like the first half ended, both teams playing a very defensive style game.

Finally with just over 26 minutes to play Lindenwood's Kayla Thomas would break the scoreless tie after a pass from Amanda Cassano and would give the Lady Lions the 1-0 lead. That is how the game would end and the Lady Lions would win a key road game.

The Eagles would send six shots towards the Lady Lions net but Whitney Calvin was up for the task every time. The sophomore recorded her fourth shutout of the season and her sixth win.

With the win the Lady Lions improve their overall record to 6-9-1 and most importantly even its conference record to 3-3-1. Up next for the Lindenwood is a key conference home game against the Graceland Yellowjackets on Saturday night.
