The Lindenwood Lady Lions soccer team took a break from its conference schedule to take on Bethel University on the road in Tennessee. After falling behind early the Lady Lions could not recover and fell to Bethel 3-1.
After a defensive start to the contest Bethel finally got the first shot on goal in the 25th minute and that shot reached the back of the net to give the home team the 1-0 lead. Bethel would add another goal late in the opening half to give the Wildcats the 2-0 lead heading into the break.
The Lady Lions were able to cut the lead in half with 12 minutes to play when Bailey Cody scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season. With just minutes remaining the Lady Lions were trying to get the equalizer but ended up surrendering another goal to the Wildcats.
With the loss the Lady Lions drop their record to 4-5-1 and will jump back into its conference portion of the schedule against William Jewell on Saturday at Harlen C. Hunter.
