After a strong first half the Lady Lions basketball team couldn't finish off another HAAC victory and feel to the Missouri Valley Vikings, 77-68 on Thursday night.
Missouri Valley started the game off with a 9-2 run and would hold that same seven point lead with 8:19 to play in the first half. At that point Lindenwood would battle back and take the lead with the help of 8-0 run capped off by jumper from Christina Edwards.
Lindenwood would take the lead to the halftime break, 34-30. The second half started with both teams struggling to find the bottom of the net. Neither team scored until almost two minutes into the half. After both teams settled down the Lady Lions would continue to lead extending their lead all the way up to six before the Vikings would claw their way back into the contest. At the 10 minute mark the Vikings would go on a 9-0 run to take the lead, which they would not give back.
Missouri Valley's defense forced the Lady Lions to turn the ball over 26 times in the game and would finish Lindenwood off with free throws down the stretch.
Senior Cassie Williams led the way for the Lindenwood with 21 points and 16 rebounds. Christina Edwards chipped in with a double-double of her own with 14 points and 10 rebounds. The Lady Lions would end the night shooting 37 percent from the field.
