The 12
th ranked and undefeated Lions' baseball team went on the road to Lubbock, Texas to take on Lubbock Christian, the defending National Champions. Lindenwood won game one, 11-7 but then lost its first game of the season in game two, 5-1. Then on Sunday the lions fell 11-0 in a nine inning affair.
In the first game of the double header the Lions jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning but Lubbock Christian came right back and scored a pair of runs. Then in the third inning the Lions scored six runs to take the lead and would go onto win 11-7.
Shelby Anderson led Lindenwood going 3-for-4 with a pair of homeruns and would drive in six runs. Lions' starter Zach Malawey started and went seven innings while striking out nine.
The Lions would lose fall in game two and the loss would be their first of the season. Lubbock Christian jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the third. Then the home team would score three more in the fifth to upend the Lions, 5-1.
Ryan Farris finished the game going 2-for-2 while Lubbock Christian starter Tyler Ross struck out 11 in the win.
In the final game of the series the Lions could only muster three hits and fell 11-0 to Lubbock Christian.
