Toriano Adams' 24/20 Helps Lions Break Their Road Losing Streak

The Lindenwood men's basketball team found the answer to its road problems on Saturday as the Lions snapped a five-game road losing streak with an 86-68 win over Graceland. The victory was the sixth for the team over its last seven games.

The Lions got some breathing room with a 7-0 run midway through the first-half which gave them a 37-29 advantage. Lindenwood would hold on to that eight-point lead for the rest of the half as it led 43-35 at halftime. In the second-half, the Lions scored 19 points in the first seven minutes which opened up a 20-point lead that the Yellowjackets could never cut down to single-digits.

Lindenwood was led by a 20/20 performance by Toriano Adams, his third during his Lions career. Adams had 24 points after making 10-of-13 from the field and four free throws. He also grabbed 20 rebounds, with seven offensive and 13 defensive boards, and even collected two steals and two assists.

Four other Lions scored in double-figures. Richard Rose had 20 points, including making three three-pointers. Alfred Nelson and David King came off the bench to score 12 and 11, respectively, and Brett Thompson collected 10 points. Joey Parker dished out 10 assists and turned the ball over just two times.

One of the nation's top scorers, Graceland's Jewel Carter, scored 27 points, but Lindenwood made him work for it as he shot 11-of-29 from the field and five-of-14 from beyond the arc. The Lions held Graceland to 42.2 percent shooting from the field and they outrebounded the Yellowjackets 45-29.
