The Lindenwood Lady Lions closed out their home portion of the schedule with a 71-65 loss to the MidAmerica Nazarene Pioneers on Saturday afternoon.
The game started with the Pioneers going on a 11-4 run to take a seven point lead but the Lady Lions would battle back to take a three point lead with just over three minutes to play in the half. MidAmerica would score the final points of the half to take a two-point lead to the locker room.
MidAmerica would come out of the halftime break and go on a 19-6 run to extend their lead all the way up to 16. Down 16 the Lady Lions did not give in going on a 16-6 run to cut the lead to three, capped off by a three-point play by Christina Edwards. Lindenwood had the ball and a chance to tie with just over 11 seconds to play but a three by Sade Adams just missed the mark and MidAmerica would hold on for a 71-65 win.
Three Lady Lions would score in double figures led by Edwards who recorded 17 points. Kelly Albers pitched in with 10 points and senior Cassie Williams scored 12 in her final home game as a Lady Lion.
With the loss the Lady Lions fell to 8-20 and 6-13in conference play with two games to go.
