For the second straight day at the Lou Brock Sports Complex, the Lady Lions softball team split a pair of games. On Sunday, Lindenwood defeated Indiana IT by a 4-2 score in the opener, but fell 5-3 in game two.
In the first game, the two teams were tied until Lindenwood scored a run in both the fifth and sixth inning.
Heidi Schertzer threw a complete game for the Lady Lions. She allowed four hits and two walks, and struck out 10.
Katie Wessel had three hits and two RBIs, and
Sophie Berman scored twice.
In the second game, Lindenwood led 3-2 until Indiana IT pushed across three runs in the fifth. Berman and
Caitlin Diesen each had two hits and one RBI, and Jacqueline Riorden had two hits and a run.
Lindenwood is 2-2 after its first weekend of the season. The team will travel to Belhaven for a tournament next weekend.
