The Lindenwood men's volleyball team finished 3-1 this weekend at the St. Ambrose Fighting Bee Classic in Davenport, Iowa. The Lions picked up wins against Grand Canyon, St. Xavier, Warner, and fell to St. Ambrose.
St. Ambrose snapped Lindenwood's seven match winning streak early Saturday, winning 30-23, 30-26, 24-30, 31-29.
Mike Warren had a team-high 20 kills and
Taylor Morrill finished with 14.
Mike Larson tallied 48 assists and
Mike Emerick added 16 digs.
Matt Schmack had a season-high 13 blocks and Warren chipped in with eight.
Lindenwood wrapped up tournament play with a sweep of Warner (Fla.), winning by scores of 30-23, 30-23, 34-32. Warren once again led the Lions in kills with 14, and also had a team-best five blocks. Larson had 28 assists and
Carson Grissinger added 13 helpers. Larson converted three aces and
Jon Wong had two. Emerick logged nine digs and
Luke Knowlson had five blocks as well.
The Lions opened up play on Friday with a 30-27, 32-30, 30-26 sweep of Grand Canyon. Morrill recorded a team-high 17 kills and
Tim Huizinga added 12.
Raphael Mattos converted two aces and Larson logged 46 assists. Emerick chipped in with 12 digs.
Lindenwood swept St. Xavier for the second time in the last week, winning by scores of 30-17, 30-19, 30-24.
Tyler Dolph paced the Lions with 11 kills and Mattos had nine. Larson posted 23 assists and Grissinger added 20 helpers and four aces. Emerick once again led the team in digs with 11.
Lindenwood (14-7, 4-2) will host Missouri Baptist on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
