Just two days after upsetting the No. 1 team in the country, the Lindenwood men's soccer team was right back in action on Wednesday night at Park University. The Lions would lose their first game of the season to the Pirates 2-1.
The Pirates got on the scoreboard first just four minutes into the game when the Lions were called for a penalty inside the penalty area. Ramone Palmer would score on the penalty kick to give the Pirates a 1-0 lead.
Park's goal was the only tally of the first half for either team. Trailing for the first time all year, the Lions would tie the score up in the 55th minute when Mauricio Medina scored his first goal of the season.
Just thirteen minutes later Park would regain its one goal lead when Palmer would score his second goal of the game. The Pirates would hold off the Lions handing Lindenwood its first loss of the season.
With the loss, Lindenwood drops to 2-1 overall on the young season. Next up for the Lions is a matchup against Hannibal-LaGrange on Friday night in Columbia, Mo.
