The Lindenwood men's volleyball team got its first win of the season on Friday night with a 3-1 win over Quincy at the Hyland Arena.

In the first set, Lindenwood trailed 24-20, but managed to come back and win 29-27. After a JM Plummer kill tied the set at 27, Quincy made two errors to give the game to the Lions.

The second set did not go Lindenwood's way, as they only recorded four kills and fell 25-15. The Lions led 7-6 early, but were outscored 19-8 the rest of the way.

Errors by Quincy helped Lindenwood win another close game by a 25-23 margin. With the Lions trailing 23-22, a kill by Jack Mitchell tied the game. Quincy had back-to-back attack errors after that, the last coming on a block by Mike Warren and Matt Schmack. Lindenwood had just four attack errors compared to Quincy's eight in the crucial set.

Lindenwood grabbed control of the final set early on as it went on an 8-0 run with Mike Larson serving. The Lions led by as many as ten points before finishing with a match clinching 25-17 win.

Bradley Johnston led the Lions in kills with 15, and Warren followed close behind with 12 kills. Larson contributed 22 assists, three aces, and eight digs for a solid overall performance. Mike Emerick led the Lions with nine digs, while Schmack led with eight blocks.

The Lions will head on the road next weekend to face Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois.
