The Lindenwood men's volleyball team was defeated by Graceland in four games Saturday afternoon in Lamoni, Iowa. The scores in the match were 24-26, 25-19, 22-25, 24-26.
Every game was very close, with the six-point victory in game two for Lindenwood being the largest winning margin for either team in the entire match.
Kill leaders for the Lions were
Mike Warren and
Bradley Johnston once again, with 13 and 10 kills respectively.
Mike Larson provided 23 assists, while
Carson Grissinger tallied 16. On the defensive end,
Luke Knowlson led Lindenwood with eight total blocks, followed by
Matt Schmack with five.
Mike Emerick recorded 14 digs. Also, Johnston was able to score two service aces.
On Friday night, Lindenwood fell to Park University in five games by scores of 25-19, 28-30, 24-26, 25-22, 9-15.
The Lions were off to a good start, comfortably winning the first set, but lost the next two games in extra points. Lindenwood tied the match at 2-2, but were not able to finish the comeback, losing in the 15-point final set.
Warren led the team with 23 kills, followed by Johnston with 13. Helping those hitters were Larson and Grissinger with 27 and 21 assists respectively. Defensively, Schmack recorded seven total blocks, while Warren contributed five. Emerick racked up 13 digs and
JM Plummer scored two service aces.
The Lions' (2-5, 1-2) next game will be at home on Feb. 8th when they square off against Hannibal-LaGrange.
