The Lindenwood men's basketball team tied a program record with its 11th straight victory on Monday evening. The Lions defeated Central Bible by an 84-48 score to improve to 12-1 on the season.
Lindenwood used its height advantage to dominate inside the paint. Its biggest payoff came at the free throw line where it shot 36 free throws, and made 28, compared to just three of six for the Spartans. The Lions also had 15 more rebounds and 12 more points in the paint than Central Bible.
Lindenwood had a balanced offensive attack throughout the game and finished with 45.5 percent shooting from the field. Four different players scored in double figures and eight had at least six points. Defensively, the Lions held Central Bible to 33.3 percent shooting from the field, including three of 16 from three-point range. Lindenwood also forced 15 turnovers and blocked five shots.
Brett Thompson had a double-double with team-highs of 11 points and 10 rebounds. He was five of seven from the field in the game.
Alex Bazzell and
Alfred Nelson also had 11 points, and
Michael Boos added 10. Bazzell was seven of eight from the field throw line, while Nelson was four of six from the field, including two dunks.
Richard Rose finished with eight points,
Kramer Soderberg had seven, and
Brandon Kunkel and
Tyler Harris each had six.
Lindenwood will look to set the school record for consecutive wins on Thursday night when it hosts Missouri Valley at 7:30 p.m.
