The men's and women's swimming and diving team hosted a triangular meet this weekend where St. Louis University and Missouri S&T competed. On the men's side the Lions took second with 82 overall points, while the women finished with a total of 70.5 points, behind St. Louis University.
The Lions had their best finish in the 200 yard medley relay with a finish time of 1:35.31. Individually,
Uba Zavaleta placed first by .07 seconds in the 1000 yard freestyle while
Javier Hernandez recorded a first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle. Other Lions placing first were
Gilad Brunfman in the 100 yard butterfly and
Ramunas Paknys in the 100 yard backstroke. The other Lions relay placed second in the 400 yard freestyle. Zavaleta also placed second in the 100 yard freestyle, respectively.
The women's team also had success during their dual meet with St. Louis University.
Ashlan Higgins recorded the only first place finish for the Lady Lions in the 100 yard freestyle in a 56.26 time.
Stephanie Heutel had a second place finish in the 1000 yard freestyle with
Sarah Billiamosa also placing second in the 200 yard freestyle and the 100 yard backstroke. In diving,
Michelle Bell was successful as she recorded second place finishes in both the one meter and three meter dive. The Lady Lions also finished in second for the 200 and 400 yard freestyle relays.
The Lindenwood swimming and diving team will be in action again Friday, Nov. 4 as they travel to Springfield, Mo., to take on Missouri State University. Meet time is set to begin at 5 p.m.
