Boos' five first-half three-pointers (video)
Lindenwood men's basketball won the battle between the top two three-point shooting teams in the HAAC and its reward was a 76-54 conference victory over Avila on Monday night at Hyland Arena.
The Lions made ten three-pointers and shot 35.7 percent from beyond the arc, compared to the Eagles who made just seven and shot under 30 percent. Eight of Lindenwood's three-pointers came in the first half when it jumped out to a 45-24 lead. The big run came at the end of the first half when the Lions scored the final 15 points of the period.
Michael Boos started that run with nine straight points, all coming on three-pointers.
Boos finished the game with a career high 21 points. He was a perfect five of five from three-point range in the first half and added a field goal and four free throws in the final half.
Richard Rose finished with 11 points, and
Alex Bazzell and
Garrett Reeg each had 10.
Kramer Soderberg had eight assists, all coming in the first half, and finished with nine points.
David King had 10 rebounds to lead the Lions.
With the win, Lindenwood improves to 24-3 overall and 15-2 in the HAAC. The Lions have three conference games remaining and need two wins to clinch a share of the conference championship and an automatic berth to the national tournament.
