McKendree Has Big First Inning and Beats Lindenwood

The Lindenwood Lions baseball team travelled to Lebannon, Ill. Sunday afternoon to take on the McKendree Bearcats. Lindenwood fell behind early and fell to the Bearcats 19-9.

The contest started with the Bearcats erupting for 11 runs in the bottom of the first inning and the Lions could never recover. Lindenwood starter Robbie Douthit did not record an out and was knocked out of the game after surrendering six runs on five hits.

Leading the way for the Lions at the plate was Mike Moore who was two for four with three RBIs and a homerun. Mario Parra and Crispin Tarango also pitched in with three hits apiece.

With the loss, the Lions drop their record to 15-13. Up next for the Lions is a conference game against Benedictine on Tuesday night.
