Lions Fall in Series Finale to No. 1 Oklahoma City

The Lindenwood Lions baseball team fell to No. 1 Oklahoma City 15-2 Sunday afternoon in St. Charles.

After falling to the Lions two times on Saturday the Stars came out hitting the ball all over the park. Oklahoma City scored five runs in the first and four runs in the second to take an early 9-0 lead. The visitors added another tally in the third and one in the fourth. The fourth inning could have been much worse for the Lions but the Stars hit into a triple play with bases loaded.

The Stars did not let off the throttle scoring four runs in the fifth and beat the Lions in seven innings 15-2.

Oklahoma City outhit the Lions 13-6 and Lindenwood committed four errors.

With the loss the Lions drop to 26-17 on the season. Up next for the Lions is a key conference matchup with the first place Culver-Stockton Wildcats next Saturday and Sunday in St. Charles.
