The Lindenwood field hockey team remains winless after a tough loss to American International in double overtime by a score of 3-2.
The Yellow Jackets got two goals in the opening 11 minutes of the first half and looked in control, outshooting the Lady Lions 16-4, and winning 10 penalty corners to Lindenwood's two.
Lindenwood turned things around in the 54th minute, when Kundai Musarurwa netted her first goal of the season to cut the lead in half. Erin de Jesus followed up nine minutes later with her first tally of the year. The two teams ended regulation knotted up at two. The Lady Lions outshot American International 11-6 in the half.
The first overtime period was scoreless as Lindenwood had two shots to the Yellow Jackets' three. American broke the tie and escaped with the victory after a goal by Lisa Duckles in the 87th minute.
The Lady Lions drop to 0-6 on the year and will make the short trip to North Easton, Mass. to face Stonehill College.
