Lady Lions' Field Hockey Edged by Stonehill in Another 3-2 Game

The Lindenwood field hockey team suffered another setback with its seventh straight loss to begin the season. The Lady Lions fell to Stonehill 3-2 on Sunday afternoon in Easton, Mass.

The Skyhawks got on the board first with a goal from Caitlin O'Keeffe eight and a half minutes into the game. Less than a minute later, the home squad doubled its lead. Lindenwood answered back ten minutes later to cut the lead to one goal. Erin de Jesus scored her second goal in as many days.

Stonehill moved the lead back to two goals when Jennifer Foley scored in the 62nd minute. With less than five minutes left in regulation, Maria Schafer netted a goal and that's how the game ended.

Samantha Brown took the loss in goal, making 13 saves in the match. The Skyhawks outshot Lindenwood 36-11 and held a 13-4 advantage in penalty corners.

With the loss, the Lady Lions drop to 0-7 this season. Lindenwood will return to action on Friday when it plays Saint Louis University in the last of its seven-game road streak.
