complete game notes in .pdf format

Storyline
Lindenwood continues a string of games against NCAA Division III competitors this week with three contests. The Lady Lions have a two-game series against Bethel (Minn.) on Friday and Saturday. Sunday afternoon, Lindenwood travels to St. Olaf.

Lindenwood split a series last weekend against NCAA Division III Concordia. The Lady Lions are now 2-2-0 on the season versus NCAA Division III programs.

Both Bethel and St. Olaf are in the upper half of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and are around the .500 mark this season.

Last Time Out
Lindenwood went 1-2 last week with a loss to nationally-ranked North Dakota to go along with the split at Concordia.

The Lady Lions lost 14-0 to North Dakota, including four goals being scored in the final five minutes of the game.

Special teams cost Lindenwood in a 4-3 loss to Concordia. The Lady Lions were 0-for-seven, while the Cobbers were three-for-seven.

Lindenwood got revenge with a 6-1 win in the final game of that series. The Lady Lions defense allowed just a power-play goal in the win.

Wick Sets Marks
Alison Wickenheiser had the best individual performance of the season for Lindenwood with five goals in the second Concordia game. She set team single-game marks this season for goals, points, shots (13), and plus/minus (+4).

Four of her five goals came on special teams with two power-play goals and two shorthanded goals.

First-Line Offense
Alison Wickenheiser, Alyssa West, and Allysson Arcibal have been teamed up on the first offensive line for 10 straight games. That trio has combined for nine of the team's 16 goals in that span. Defensively, while that trio has been on the ice, Lindenwood has been tough to score on. Wickenheiser has a positive +/- in that span, and West and Arcibal are just below the even mark.

Goalkeeping Numbers
For the second time in three series, Taylor Fairchild saved over 90 percent of the shots she faced over a two-game span. Against Concordia, she had a .915 save percentage. Only one of the five goals that she allowed in that series was an even-strength tally.

Vs. NCAA Division III
Lindenwood is 2-2-0 against NCAA Division III programs this season, with all four games coming against members of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

In those games, Lindenwood is averaging 5.5 goals a game and allowing 3.2. Eight of the 13 goals it has allowed have been power-play goals, and Lindenwood is five-of-26 on the power play with three shorthanded goals. The Lady Lions also have the edge in faceoffs, winning 58.7 percent.

Individually, Alison Wickenheiser has six goals and six assists in those four games. Taylor Fairchild has a 3.07 GAA and a .887 save percentage.

Goal Breakdown
Lindenwood has scored 41 goals this season. Over half of those have been scored on special teams with 16 power-play goals and five shorthanded tallies.

Lindenwood travels to Sacred Heart on Jan. 20-21 in a battle between the two teams that are independents this year at the highest level of collegiate hockey.
