Box Score The Lindenwood Lady Lions basketball team used a huge second half to propel the team to a 79-71 win over the Lindenwood-Belleville Lynx on Thursday night in Belleville, Ill.
The first half was dominated by the Lynx. Lindenwood-Belleville took an eight point advantage into the locker room. But whatever Head Coach
Tony Francis said at the half worked, and the Lady Lions came out in the second half and dominated.
Lindenwood shot almost 60 percent in the final half and outscored the Lynx 51-35. The hot shooting in the final 20 minutes helped the Lady Lions win their 12th game of the season.
For the game, Lindenwood shot 50 percent from the field but just 20 percent from behind the arc. The Lady Lions defense hounded Lindenwood-Belleville all game, forcing them into 28 turnovers. The Lynx did outrebound Lindenwood 38-33.
The Lady Lions were led by
Sarah Schnieders who scored 17 points and also grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
Morgan Harrington scored 16 points while
Marissa Lehnig and
Julie Hlinak each scored 14.
The win improves Lindenwood's record to 12-7. Up next for the Lady Lions is a road game against Oakland City on Saturday.
