The Lindenwood women's soccer team dropped a MIAA matchup against the Washburn Ichabods 3-2 on Sunday afternoon in Topeka, Kan.
The opening half ended with neither team being able to dent the scoreboard. But in the second half the Lady Lions got on the scoreboard first.
Courtney Bresnahan scored nine minutes into the final half to give Lindenwood the 1-0 lead.
It did not take Washburn very long to knot up the score. Exactly two minutes later the home team tied the score. Lara Doescher scored on a penalty kick after Lindenwood goalie was called for a yellow card in the box.
The Ichabods broke the tie in the 75
th minute on a breakaway goal by Whitney Skinner. The home team added to the lead five minute later after Tia Stovall scored her fourth goal of the season. Bresnahan scored her second goal of the game for the Lady Lions but that was as close as they would get.
With the loss Lindenwood drops to 4-7-1 overall and 0-7 in MIAA play. The Lady Lions will be back on the field Oct. 19 at home against Nebraska-Kearney.
