Box Score The Lindenwood Lady Lions soccer team won its first MIAA game of the year on Sunday afternoon 2-1 against Fort Hays State in St. Charles, Mo.

The Lady Lions got on the scoreboard first in the 17^th minute. Courtney Bresnahan scored her team-leading ninth goal of the season to give the home team a 1-0 lead. Lindenwood added to the lead 10 minutes later when Bailey Cody finished off a corner kick with a header in the upper corner.

Fort Hays state cut the lead in half with just under two minutes to play when Kylie Watson scored after a perfect feed from Joanne Glynn. The first half came to a close with the Lady Lions holding the 2-1 lead.

The second half saw the Tigers put pressure on the Lindenwood defense but it was up to task as the team held on for the victory.

With the win the Lady Lions improve their overall record to 5-8-1. Up next for Lindenwood is a road game against Southwest Baptist on Oct. 25.
