Men's Soccer Beats Missouri Valley 2-0

Box Score The No. 19 Lindenwood men's soccer team recorded another shut out on the season after a 2-0 win over Missouri Valley on Tuesday night in St. Charles, Mo.

The first half was a defensive stalemate with both teams combining for only three shots on goal. After the first 45 minutes the teams were tied at zero.

In the 54th minute, the Lindenwood offense finally broke through. Ivan Romero scored his second goal of the season on a rebound. The Lions added to the lead in the 60th minute with a goal from Victor Buchim.

The two goals was all Lindenwood needed with its stellar defense. This week's MIAA soccer player of the week, Fermin Hughes, stopped all four shots he faced and earned his eighth shut out of the season.

With the win the Lions improve their overall record to 11-2-3. Up next for Lindenwood is a conference game on Friday night against Southwest Baptist at Hunter Stadium. There is a lot on the line for the Lions, because if they win or tie the team will win the school's first MIAA championship.
