Swimming and Diving Hosts Multiple Dual Meets

The Lindenwood men's and women's swimming and diving team hosted Saint Louis University, William Jewell College, and Missouri S&T Saturday. On the men's side the Lions won all three of its dual meets to take first overall, while the women split its dual meets with Saint Louis and William Jewell to claim second overall.

The men finished second in both the 400-yard medley relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay with times of 3:29 and 3:08, respectively. Individually, Uba Zavaleta claimed the top spot in the 1000 and 500-yard freestyle while Reinis Rozensteins placed first in the 100-yard freestyle.  Also finishing first for Lindenwood was Ramunas Paknys in both the 200-yard IM and 200-yard backstroke.  The Lions dominated in both diving events, claiming the top spots in both events. David Cochran finished first in both the one-meter and three-meter dive.

Like the men, the women also finished second in both the 400-yard medley relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay. Audra Thornton recorded the only first place finish for the Lady Lions in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.20. Thornton also recorded a second place finish in the 200-yard IM. Alysa Coleman finished in less than a second behind the first place spot in the 200-yard backstroke. Michelle Bell placed first in the three-meter dive, recording a final score of 234.

The Lindenwood swimming and diving teams will be back in the water again Friday November 2nd in Springfield, Mo. to take on Drury University.
