Box Score The Lindenwood Lady Lions snapped a three- game losing streak with authority on Thursday night. The Lady Lions beat the Missouri Valley Vikings 5-1 at Hunter Stadium in St. Charles.
It took Lindenwood just four minutes to dent the scoreboard.
Bailey Cody scored her first of two goals on the night to give the home team an early lead. The final 40 minutes of the opening half went scoreless but the final 45 minutes was not.
The Lady Lions started the scoring in the second half seven minutes in, when
Haley Stewart scored the first of her two goals in the game. Six minutes later, Cody added to the lead and gave Lindenwood a commanding 3-0 advantage.
Missouri Valley scored its lone goal of the game at 63:28 but the Lady Lions took all of 33 seconds to answer. Stewart scored after a perfect pass from Cody. Lindenwood closed out the scoring with just under one minute to play in the game when
Miranda Schrock scored her first goal of the season.
Jade Davis started in goal for the Lady Lions and made six saves.
The win improves Lindenwood to 4-5-1 on the season. The Lady Lions will be back in action on Oct. 7 against Truman State in Kirksville, Mo.
