Field Hockey Ends Season On a High Note

Box Score The Lindenwood field hockey team closed out its 2012 season by defeating Bellarmine University 3-2 Sunday afternoon in Louisville, Kentucky.

It didn't take long for the Lady Lions to get on the board as Lynsey Porter added her 7th of the season just five minutes into the game. The Knights answered, however, with two goals just five minutes apart to end the half with a 2-1 lead.

Erin de Jesus tied the game up in the 48th minute with her 4th of the season. Jenna Skrinak put the Lady Lions up six minutes later with her 2nd on the season. Skrinak's tally would hold up for the remaining 16 minutes to give Lindenwood its 10th win of the season. The Lady Lions outshot the Knights 15-7 with nine of those reaching the net.

Victoria Gil was in net for Lindenwood and recorded two saves in the match while O'Connor had two assists.

The 3-2 victory made Lindenwood the Champions of the Division II Independent Alliance Champions which marked a 10-6 overall record for the Lady Lions.
