The Lindenwood swimming and diving team competed in the Mizzou Invitational in Columbia, Mo. this weekend. The men finished 4th out of seven teams while the women finished 8th out of nine teams.
Day One
Lindenwood started off the three-day competition by setting multiple school records.
Ramunas Paknys set a new record in the 100 back with a time of 49:48 to lead off the men in the 400 medley relay.
Cody Friedhoff swam the 500 free in 4:33 to set another school record while
Ivars Akmentins set a new record in the 50 and 100 free.
Audra Thornton was the lone individual finalist for the ladies, recording a 28
th place finish in the 200 IM. The Women's 200 free relay finished 15
th out of 21 teams.
Day Two
The men continued to set records and had multiple top 10 finishes in the second day of competition. Pakyns broke his 100 back record from day one with a time of 49.16 which was good for a 6
th place finish. Friedhoff set a new record in the 200 free with a time of 1:40, while Akmentins finished right behind him in 10th.
Arturs Plots finished 9
th in the 100 breast and 16
th in the 400 IM with times of 49.16 and 4:04, respectively. Dustin Weatherford finished behind Plots in the 100 breast with a time of 58.23.
Thornton had another solid day of competition on Friday, finishing the 200 free in 1:54 to set another school record.
Storrie Cramer and Alyssa Coleman were finalists in the 100 breast and placed 27
th and 32
nd, respectively.
Bailey Strom finished the 100 back in 1:00 which was good for 29
th place.
Day Three
Paknys continued to set records on the third day of competition, finishing the 200 back in 5
th place with a time of 1:48.
Reinis Rozensteins set a new record in the 100 breast, placing 6th with a time of 56.52.
Uba Zavaleta placed 9
th in the 1650 free with a time of 16:11 to set another school record for the Lions. Plots finished the 200 breast in 2:05 for 8

Yannis Chader held the 7
th through 10
th positions in the 200 butterfly.
Thornton set another school record in the 100 free with a time of 53.81.
Dyana Schneider,
Kay Rosenhauer, and
Kelsey Hutton were finalist in the 1650 free.
Therese Klockare finished the 200 back in 27
th place with a time of 2:14. Cramer and Coleman finished 22
nd and 24
th in the 200 breast with times of 2:26 and 2:27, respectively. Dyna Schnieder swam in the 200 fly and placed 23
rd with a time of 2:14.
The University of Missouri claimed the top spots in both the men's and women's competition overall.
The Lindenwood swimming and diving team will be back in the water January 11
th at the Washington University Invitational.
