Box Score The Lindenwood Lady Lions basketball team shot a season's best 64 percent from the field in a 90-72 win over the Lindenwood University-Belleville Lynx on Thursday night at the Hyland Arena.
Lindenwood came out of the blocks in the first half on fire, shooting 69 percent from the field. The Lady Lions slowed down in the second half but still shot 58 percent. Lindenwood also lit it up from behind the three-point arc making nine-of-18 shots.
The Lady Lions and the Lynx played a close first eight minutes of the game, but at the 11 minute mark Lindenwood went on a 19-2 run and opened up a big lead. The opening half closed with the home team leading by 17.
The final half was all Lady Lions as well. The closest Lindenwood-Belleville got in the second half was 14 and were down by as many as 25. Lindenwood closed out the win and finished the season 2-0 against the Lynx.
Marrissa Lehnnig tied her career-high in points with 22 on seven-of-10 shooting.
Morgan Harrington was second on the team with 17 points and had a game-high six rebounds.
Caroline Bourlioux chipped in with 14 while
Julie Hlinak came off the bench to score 12.
The win improves the Lady Lions to 16-10 on the year. Lindenwood will wrap up its season next Tuesday against Oakland City.
