Box Score The Lindenwood men's lacrosse team remained perfect on the season with a 14-4 road victory over Shorter on Sunday afternoon in Rome, Ga.
Lindenwood's defense was the story of the first half as the Lions did not allow a shot in the first quarter and just eight for the half. Thanks to that defensive effort, Lindenwood led 4-1 at halftime. In the third quarter, the offense took over for Lindenwood. The Lions put 13 shots on goal and seven of those shots went into the net. Lindenwood added three more goals in the fourth for a 10-point second-half outburst.
For the game, the Lions outshot Shorter 54-19 and had a 55-26 advantage in groundballs. The Lions also forced 12 more turnovers.
Daniel Strike led the defensive effort with six caused turnovers and four groundballs.
Julian Barnes,
Richard Wilson,
Andy Kihn, and
Jordan McKay also had four groundballs apiece. Wilson helped Lindenwood control play by winning 10-of-12 faceoffs.
Dan Ashlock was one of three goalies for Lindenwood and he made seven saves and earned the victory.
Offensively, nine different players scored goals and seven had at least one assist. McKay led the team with four points, including three assists.

Joe Roy,
Justin Stuebing,
Andrew Szczepan, and
Kyle O'Donnell all had two goals.
Lindenwood moves to 2-0 after sweeping both games in Georgia over the weekend. The Lions next have their home opener on March 8 versus Dominican of California. That game will also be the first conference contest for Lindenwood as a member of the Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (WILA).
