Lady Lions Lose to Central Oklahoma

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Lindenwood softball team dropped a pair of games to the Central Oklahoma Bronchos on Saturday afternoon in Edmond, Okla. The Lady Lions fell behind early in game one and couldn't recover losing 11-5. In game two, the Lindenwood offense sputtered and fell 7-1.

Central Oklahoma jumped all over the Lady Lions in the first inning of the opening game. The Bronchos started the contest off with five consecutive hits and scored eight runs. Lindenwood tried to mount a comeback in the second inning scoring four runs capped off by an Alexandra Newcomb RBI single.

The Lady Lions were able to keep Central Oklahoma off the scoreboard until the fifth inning when the home team scored three runs. Lindenwood brought in its final run of the game in the sixth inning but fell 11-5.

Hannah Braun led the team going two-for-four with a RBI and a run scored. Macy Bross also had a good day at the play going three-for-four.

 In the final game of the two-game set the Bronchos scored two runs in the second inning to take the lead. Lindenwood was able to cut the lead in half in the third but unfortunately for the visitors that was the only run they scored.

After the two losses the team dropped its record to 6-16. Up next if the Lady Lions home opener on March 21st against the McKendree Bearcats.
