Box Score The Lindenwood men's lacrosse team ended its road trip on a high note with an 11-8 conference win over Notre Dame de Namur on Thursday afternoon in Belmont, Calif.
The Lions dominated the first 54 minutes of the game and led 11-3 before a late run by the Argonauts made the final margin just three goals. Lindenwood outshot Notre Dame de Namur by a 34-28 margin, including a 28-13 mark through three quarters. The Lions also won 66.7 percent of the faceoffs and had 14 more groundballs.
Lindenwood allowed just one goal in the first half and it led 5-1 at halftime. Notre Dame de Namur opened the second half with two straight man-advantage goals. That was as close as it would get though as the Lions scored six straight times to pull ahead by eight.
The Lions received balanced scoring with seven players recording a goal, including four players with two. Andrew Szcepan and
Carter McCracken both had two goals and one assist, and
Greg Cameron and
Andrew Peterson both scored twice.
Josh Arras had a team-high four points with one goal and three assists. Rounding out the points were
McNein Hewitt and
Jack Carroll with one goal and one assist each.
Defensively,
Jake Redlingshafer made seven saves and allowed just five goals in over 56 minutes in goal.
Andy Kihn caused two turnovers and Grame Hossack had a team-high six groundballs.
Richard Wilson won 13-of-19 faceoffs.
Lindenwood improves to 4-5 on the season and 2-4 in WILA action. The Lions will next have a scrimmage at Hunter Stadium on Wednesday at 7 p.m. against Missouri.
