Box Score The Lindenwood baseball team was trying to avoid a three-game sweep by the Central Oklahoma Bronchos on Sunday in Weatherford, Okla., but the Lions could not slow down the home team's offense and fell 7-2.
For the second consecutive game, Lindenwood scored the first run of the game in the top of the first inning. The Bronchos, like they have all weekend came right back an answered with a run in the second and the third innings to take the lead. Central Oklahoma added to its lead and put the game away with a four run fifth inning.
Ryan Light and
Colton Moore had two hits each to lead the team.
Wade Rothermich chipped in with a run scored and a RBI. The Lions used six pitchers to get through eight innings.
Brian Hruby started on the hill and took the loss after giving up six earned runs.
After the loss Lindenwood fell to 16-15 on the season. Up next for the Lions is a weekend series against Northeastern State in St. Charles, Mo.
