Men's Volleyball Knocks Off Ball State On Senior Night

Saturday night was Senior Night at Hyland Arena for the Lindenwood men's volleyball team and the program's two seniors, Jack Mitchell and JM Plummer, led the Lions to one of their biggest victories over the last four years. The Lions defeated NCAA Division I Ball State by scores of 25-19, 25-22, and 25-22.

Lindenwood won the game with its defense as it recorded 15 blocks and held Ball State to just a .111 hitting percentage. Plummer had a career-high eight blocks to lead the Lions, including five in the first set. Logan Jarus finished with seven blocks, Scott Siwicki had five, and Mitchell collected four. The Lions also had 35 digs, including 12 from Tim Schmidt and seven from Plummer.

Offensively, the Lions hit over .300 against the Cardinals. Mitchell led the team with 14 kills and he had a .440 hitting percentage. He entered the top-10 Lindenwood career kills list and needs just five kills in his final match to reach 700 for his career.

Plummer was second on the team with eight kills, and both Lindenwood's middle hitters, Siwicki and Jarus, finished with seven. Siwicki hit .462 for the match and Jarus had a .385 percentage. Tim Schmidt had 35 assists to complete his double-double.

Lindenwood improves to 18-13 on the year. The Lions end their season on Sunday afternoon with a 4 p.m. match at Quincy.
