Men's Lacrosse Falls By One Versus Nationally-Ranked Pfeiffer

Box Score The Lindenwood men's lacrosse teams ended its season on Sunday afternoon with a showdown against nationally-ranked Pfeiffer. The Lions played nearly even with the No. 12 Falcons but fell by a 7-6 score.

Lindenwood dominated most of the team stats, including outshooting Pfeiffer 42-30 and having a 33-20 advantage in groundballs. The Lions ran into a hot goalkeeper though as the Falcon's goalie made 13 saves to prevent an upset.

The Lions fell in a 3-0 hole in the game but battled back and trailed just 4-3 after Josh Arras scored with one second left before halftime. Carter McCracken tied the game for Lindenwood early in the third quarter, but the Falcons answered with two straight goals. The Lions got within one goal twice after that but was never able to get the tying goal.

Arras and McCracken both finished with two goals. McNein Hewitt had one goal and one assist, and Jack Carroll had a goal. Grame Hossack led the team with eight groundballs. Richard Wilson was 12-of-16 on faceoffs and he had six groundballs. Hossack and John Pettis each caused two turnovers. Dan Ashlock made 10 saves while allowing seven goals.

Lindenwood ends its 2012 season with an 8-7 overall record.
