Box Score The Lindenwood Lady Lions soccer squad fell to Northwest Missouri State 3-2 on Friday evening in St. Charles in their first game in the MIAA.
The Lady Lions got on the scoreboard first in the 19
th minute when
Haley Stewart scored her first goal of the season. That goal would be the only tally of the first half.
The second half saw another Lindenwood goal by
Kirsten Crabtree in the 52
nd minute, her first of the season.
The score stood at 2-0 Lady Lions until the Bearcats struck with two goals in quick succession. Both came off the foot of Victoria Von Mende at the 60
th and 63
rd minute mark. Then, in the 72
nd minute, Von Mende tacked on a third for the hat trick and the Northwest Missouri State win.
Jade Davis played 90 minutes in goal and recorded 11 saves on the night. The Lady Lions gave up their first goal of the season after 350 minutes of shut out soccer.
The loss was the first of the season and brings the Lady Lion's record to 2-1-1 on the season overall, and 1-0-0 in MIAA play.
Lindenwood women's soccer will take on Missouri Western State University this Sunday afternoon at Hunter Stadium in St. Charles at 3:30 p.m.
